Have you ever thought about insuring your life?
Up until recently, I haven’t. I mean, when you turn 18, 21, 25, or even 30… The first thing on your mind is not to go online/make a phone call and get a life insurance quote.
But now that I’m going to be 30 in about 4 months, I’ve been married for almost 3 years, and I have an almost one year old baby (WHAT?! How did that happen so fast?!) — it’s hard not to think about it — what if something happens to me? What if something happens to both my husband AND me? I know, this is not your normal, cheery, daily blog post. But it’s something that we’ve been discussing lately. And obviously I just want the best for my baby. I’d want him to be taken care of no matter what. Sometimes it feels like “younger” people think they’re so invincible, that nothing will happen to them. But I witnessed firsthand, only one year ago, that we are not invincible, and if you’re not prepared, it could be more devastating than you think.
So we’ve been looking into different types of life insurance. We’re not sure what we’ll actually settle on, but all I know is that this little boy is my entire world. I don’t plan on leaving him for a very, very long time. But if anything were to happen, we’d be prepared.
