Review: Baltic Amber Teething Necklace

We suspected that the baby was seriously teething around six months old. But there were no sign of teeth. He had all of the tell-tale signs — excessive drooling, gnawing on things, cranky, and the list goes on… But of course, you know the saying — a baby starts teething when they are born. So you never really know when that first tooth will pop through.

At eight months he got his first tooth. It was a bottom center tooth. Then, every two weeks after that, another tooth would cut through. It was miserable. We used baby Tylenol. We used baby Orajel. I tried teething toys and cold wash cloths. We used the mesh feeder and tried frozen fruits and other things.

Nothing worked. He was still a miserable baby. He’d wake up in the middle of the night screaming. Back arching and screaming in pain. Every single night. And all day, too.

Until one day, I remembered all this talk about Baltic Amber Teething Necklaces. I’ve seen them in lots of pictures on babies. Heard lots of stories of them really working.

So I bought one.

About Baltic Amber jewelry (taken from www.momsmilkboutique.com):

How can baltic amber help us?

  • Pain Relief – Baltic amber contains analgesic properties and helps take the edge off of many types of discomfort associated with dental issues, headaches, joint pain, etc.
  • Strengthens the body’s immune system – In many different and subtle ways, succinic acid helps boost the body’s own natural healing ability and immune system.
  • Restoring Energy – The human body naturally produces succinic acid. The salt of succinic acid (succinate) is one of the most active substances in the processes of cellular respiration and intercellular energy creation. Succinic acid restores oxygen and energy supply to depleted cells and helps the body return to a normal, functioning state. Succinate is a raw material and a catalyst in the Krebs Cycle which is one of our main sources of energy. During the Krebs Cycle carbohydrates, fats, and proteins are metabolized for energy.
  • To help break a cycle of (chronic) inflammation – Where chronic inflammation is present, disease lurks. When the bodys cells are chronically inflamed the human bodys immune system response is to increase production of free radicals. Chronic overproduction of free radicals results in inflammatory-related disease. Chronic inflammation is a common denominator of many seemingly unrelated diseases.

Wearing his *Healing* Green Baltic Amber necklace.

We’ve had it on him now for a little over a month long. He wears it pretty much all of the time. He doesn’t even notice it’s there. He doesn’t pull on it or bite it — or even try to. Obviously you want to be careful and keep an eye on them while they wear it, as they could get it stuck on something and it can pose a choking hazard.

My husband and I were skeptical at first. But since he’s had it on, he’s cut a few more teeth. And it has been so much easier on him. Instead of screaming for a week long — he maybe has one semi-bad day. And that’s usually the day when the tooth is about to cut through.

I really recommend that if you haven’t tried one of these yet, you do! Check out http://www.momsmilkboutique.com. Their service is quick and easy. I’ve even asked questions on their Facebook page and always get a quick and personal response. I could speak any higher of them!
